Implementation Plan:

Scenario 1: With Controller

Step 1: Initially, we will construct a microalgae–based CO₂ removal system model in Simulink including cabin CO₂ dynamics and biomass growth.

Step 2: Then, we integrate the biomass growth model using first-order kinetics and Monod-based growth rate equations.

Step 3: Next, we design and implement a PID controller with MPC to regulate CO₂ concentration within safe limits.

Step 4: Next, we simulate the model and collect simulated data.

Step 5: Next, we analyze system stability, nonlinear behavior, and controller performance based on simulation results.

Step 6: Finally, we plot performance metrics for the following

6.1: Time vs CO₂ Concentration
6.2: Time vs Biomass Growth
6.3: Time vs  CO₂ Consumption Rate
6.4: Time vs  CO₂ Reduction Rate

Scenario 2: Without Controller

Step 3: Next, we simulate the system without any controller and collect simulated data.

Step 4: Next, we analyze system response, nonlinear behavior, and uncontrolled CO₂ fluctuations.

Step 5: Finally, we plot performance metrics for the following

5.1: Time vs CO₂ Concentration
5.2: Time vs Biomass Growth
5.3: Time vs CO₂ Consumption Rate
5.4: Time vs  Reduction Rate

Software Requirements:

1. Development Tool: MATLAB R2023a/Simulink or above
2. Operating System: Windows-10 (64-bit) or above
