Automatic Fault Locating and Monitoring in Distribution Lines Using LabVIEW is a project covered in power sector to mitigate the occurrence of accidents. Electricity is becoming the key to operate any type of home appliances. Working with electricity is a challenging and life risking job.

Usually the fault in distribution lines is identify and report only to the control panels, but it needs to be notified to the service man who is responsible to solve the faults.

In this project an Automatic Fault Locating and Monitoring in Distribution Lines Using LabVIEW is develop that predicts the faults and notifies service man with a SMS.

Global System for Mobile communication is shortened as GSM, which is responsible for transmitting SMS to service man and so the fault is cleared as early as possible.

This project is composed of hardware devices fed with programming to predict faults. The two communication unit built in this system are transmitting unit and receiving unit.
